Hi! I'm Dano Morrison.
I like to have fun building software, mashing ideas and domains together to see what works
I’m originally from Redmond, Washington, and went to school in Canada, where I got involved in the "neurotechnology" scene.
I built EEG101, an Android app that taught EEG fundamentals using real-time feedback from low-cost headsets, and developed Brainwaves, a desktop application for NYU that taught neuroscience to high-school students. I eventually joined CTRL-labs and then Meta, working on EMG-based interactions, data collection infrastructure, and demos.
Being part of the team that took wrist-worn EMG from the scrappy prototype phase to a mass-market product was a huge honor, and I'm still amazed it actually shipped and you can just buy one now.
Nowadays, I'm focusing on the intersection of AI and education. As someone who was on the computer a bit too much as a kid I'm both excited and horrified by what AI has the potential to do to learning.
